FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS! After answering hundreds of phone and e-mail questions from individuals and groups alike,we decided to put just a few down for everyone to review!
Q> How cold is the water ?
A> The waters that flow from Crystal River and Homosassa river springs maintain a constant 72 degrees fahrenheit/22.2 cel.

Q>How deep is the water?
A>The water depth can vary anywhere from 3 to 10 feet. King Spring is 55 feet deep, but most manatee encounters occur in shallow waters that are 6 to 10 feet deep.

Q>Do we have to wear a wet suit?
A> Yes, we do require that you wear a wet suit not only for warmth but also flotation and safety.

Q>How many can go on a manatee tour?
A>We specialize in small groups only (12 max.) but normally  will have 6 to 8 swimmers. We cater to people of all ages.

Q>How many manatees will we see?
A>Since our manatee encounters occur in the wild, it is impossible to predict the numbers we may encounter. We could locate 1 or 300 manatees, dependent on time of year, water temp. and locations. We try are best to provide you with an exciting and enjoyable experience. Crystal and Homosassa rivers are home to the world's largest population of wild manatees. It is also the only place (at this time)where you can legally swim with these gentle creatures.

Q>Can we scuba dive?
A>No, diving is not permitted with manatees in the wild ,it can alter there behavior. Even when snorkeling we never break the surface.

Q>Are their any age restrictions to swim with the manatees?
A>No, you  are never to old or young to experience this wonderful encounter. We do have some guidelines for small children and infants. Most tours are not suitable for infants unless you book one of our private tours . Please ask us for details.

Q>What if i don't what to swim with the manatees?
A>If you don't what to swim you can go as an observer. You will still enjoy the experience, their is much to see along the way. From the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife, you can also see the manatees from the boat they are usually near the surface and close to the boat. 

Q>Which is better Homosassa or Crystal River for seeing manatees?
A>Both rivers are equally good but, our experience has shown that Homosassa is better in winter and Crystal River in the summer months.

Q>What time of day do the manatee swims take place?
A>Early morning hours are the best times for viewing manatees, this is when they are most active and playful. We have different departure times depending on location and time of year.

Q> How long will our manatee tour last?
A>You begin your experience at the selected location where your captain will meet you. Our standard tour lasts approx. 3 hours. Our private tours last longer depending on which one you select.

Q>What about lodging?
A> There are many hotels/motels in our area. call for information we have a list of the best ones . (call for info.)

Q>What else is their to do in your area?
A>We also offer kayak rental at two location,scalloping trips,and drift trips down Rainbow river. You can also charter a fishing trip,or air boat ride.  We are within 10mins. away from the Homosassa wildlife park which is home to rehabilitated Manatees that have been injured in the wild. All types of animals that are found in Florida can be found within the park it is a wonderfully educational and entertaining exhibit of all that is natural and wild in our area. The cost is very inexpensive and we have discount coupons for you if interested. You should allow approx. 3 hours for this experience.

Q>How close are you to the airports?
A>We are 90mins. from Orlando airport and 75 mins.. from Tampa airport. We also have a private airport 10 mins.. from any of our locations.
